Walter Buchanan Seniors and Radio MinisterWalter Buchanan, seniors' minister at College Street, served this congregation as pulpit minister from 1979 to 1985, then from 1992 to 2001. In addition to his work with the seniors, Walter conducts the weekly "Good News" radio broadcast on KBEC (AM 1390) each Saturday morning at 7:45. He began fulltime ministry in 1957 and has served congregations in Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma. A graduate of Freed-Hardeman and Harding Universities, Walter conducts several gospel meetings each year and preaches on Sundays at the Italy, Texas Church of Christ. He married Billie (Dixon) in 1956, and they enjoy three children and eight grand children. |
